A fascination with Indian miniatures, discovered in the Metropolitan Museum and various NYC galleries, has inspired the artist’s mural work, and elicited new clients. With her talented artist cousin from Rome (contemporary painting and fresco, jewelry), Robin Clerici, Tirrell explored the murals in the northern Shekavati region, but was stunned by the cave murals of Ajanta and Ellora in the jungle region of Udaipur. Her humble tribute to the sensual, powerful paintings and carvings of centuries is a mural in a bedroom with garden view in her own house.
